Let's have a thread for public appearances, radio interviews etc.
It will be easier to keep track if we put it in one thread. I'm thinking for example, of things like the "G4 live on TV tonight!!" post a while ago.
I'll kick off with - there was a question about G4 on The Chase today!
Thanks Kay, I will try and watch it on catch up. Hope rehearsal goes well. :-)
Jonathan Will be on Wright show from 9:15 channel 5 this morning. I was fricking among 3 channels while having dinner last night. I had to rush to choir's rehearsal, didn't have time to post.hope people will catch it

G4 at Playhouse Whitley Bay ~ a guest blog and feature image by Mandy Charlton
Anyone who’s of a certain age will surely remember G4 as being the first ever runners up of the XFactor back in 2004, from humble beginnings as a barbershop quartet G4 have gone from strength to strength with their unique brand of “Popera” which has won them love and acclaim all over the world. The band briefly disbanded in 2007 but in 2014 they came back, bigger and better than ever, they have been delighting audiences ever since with their own operatic delivery of some of the biggest pop songs of today. G4 are touring with their latest album “Love Songs” and it seems they are brighter and more brilliant than ever, the energy, the melodies and harmonies were flawless, the arrangements of some of the greatest love songs of our times are a symphonic delight and whilst the choreography and occasional cheesy moments proves that these 4 singing wonders are not blessed with dancing feet you cannot help but lose your heart to an extraordinary evening of sublime music. The show opened with “Your Song” and closed with “The Voice” The string accompaniment by Sorrell Strings was perfect, put together with the exceptional talent of Sax/flute/clarinet player Oli Nez and the outstanding piano arrangements of Richard Jones, I cannot fault even a single second of the concert. G4 are at times joined by the winner of the Chinese XFactor Mary Jess and I have to admit being a little taken aback when she had her moment in the spotlight singing Chinese opera but boy can that girl sing, I’ve never been so blown away by something so unexpected. When the end of the concert did come a well deserved standing ovation happened and as G4 burst into “Barcelona” my heart felt happy for having experienced such an amazing night of musical delights. The great thing about G4 is that you feel that you are really there with them, Jonathan Ansell even appears in the crowd at one point and afterwards the band were present to sign their new CD’s delighting the die hard fans, you don’t often get that at concerts and for me it just added a little nod that they were grateful to have retained their fans for so many years. If you get the chance to see G4, they’re touring the length and breadth of Great Britain during March and they’re over in Ireland in September, I can promise you that if you do go along that you will enjoy an evening of music so wonderful that you will remember it for years to come.

thanks Norma for explaining. I should keep my house tidy! I would like to invite the boys in for a cup of tea...
Thanks, Tig, for keeping the media thread updated....there has certainly been a lot happening lately!
Kay, the boys organised the Valentine's Surprises themselves! They chose folk who had pledged (so therefore they had their addresses) and no one knew when or where they would turn up, other than that it would probably be in the area where they were doing radio interviews/signings! They also did 'busking' in Dorchester and Cheltenham with radio stations, and visited the hospital in Bournemouth and all these appearances have had a very positive reaction. It would be lovely if they could do the same again at some point.
urgh! I want to delete the space between k and new on above post but the cursor can't be put there! so I have to leave it there and continue...
It's a very complementally review of the album! Having said that, the person seem to have a completely different music taste from mine. My 2 most favourite pieces, Go the Distance and Because We Believe were not mentioned.
Thank you Tig for keeping us in a loop. I seem to be missing a lot of it. When we had one forum, everybody was there and all I have to do is looking at the forum for any update. These days, I can't keep up with everywhere. I don't go to tweet or facebook much. Have I missed it? How this valentine surprise started? Did the people bought ticket for lucky dip to be serenaded by the boys? no idea how they and Natalie k new about Margaret? lucky lady!

X Factor singers G4 visit patients at Bournemouth Hospital for Valentine's Day
X factor singers G4 left hearts beating at Royal Bournemouth Hospital with a special Valentine’s Day visit just days after the band members were attacked. The operatic group spread love to poorly patients staying in hospital including 87-year-old Olive Braddock, who joined in before an impromptu performance in the atrium. Patients and families were treated to romantic renditions of Elvis Presley’s Can’t Help Falling In Love, Nessun Dorma and Elton John’s Your Song. The visit came just two days after two members Mike Christie and Jonathan Ansell were treated in hospital in Birmingham after an attempted mugging. Mike was hit over the head and Jonathan received a blow to the eye as he wrestled back a stolen laptop. Mike wrote on his Twitter page following the visit: ‘So rewarding to do this, seeing the patients faces light up and mouthing the words. #valentinesday.’
Margaret Carr, a current patient at RBCH, said: “Seeing G4 was just lovely – it’s made my day. I’d seen them on TV and it was great to have them at my bedside – they were true gentlemen.” Matron Trudi Ellis said: “Today’s visit from vocal harmony group G4, who found fame on the X Factor, truly warmed our hearts. “Currently on a radio tour, the group stopped in to serenade some of our patients and everyone was just so touched – it was totally unexpected. "They were so professional and wonderful to listen to, their visit made such a difference to the patients on the ward and to our staff, who were not expecting such an eventful Tuesday lunchtime. "The whole thing was lovely, they brightened up Valentine’s Day and brought smiles to our faces, thank you G4!” They also knocked on the door of an unsuspecting Dorset resident to sing songs and hand over a rose.

G4 – Love Songs album review
Former X Factor contestants G4 have been back together and touring for a few years now. What initially started off as a reunion show, soon turned into full tours and the release of new album, G4 Christmas, in 2015. The foursome now features original members Jonathan Ansell, Mike Christie and Ben Thapa along with Nick Ashby, who joined the band in 2014. In time for Valentine’s Day, G4 have released their new album Love Songs. Love Songs is a collection of well-known love songs from across the years. G4 have stuck to what they know best – putting their own spin on songs loved by music fans. The set opens with I’d Do Anything For Love (But I Won’t Do That) featuring Lesley Garret, which is a cover of chart-topping Meat Loaf song. It sets the scene well and it suits the voices of the group. Meat Loaf has always infused theatrical and classical elements into his music so the song is a perfect match for G4. On the record the group selects a wonderful choice of songs that is sure to resonate with its core audience. An early highlight is a cover of Elton John’s Your Song, which is stirring and slow building. The harmony arrangement on the track is superb and it brings out a lovely warmth in the melody. It’s the best version we’ve heard of the track since Ewan McGregor tackled it for Moulin Rouge. Elsewhere G4 tackle Take That on the gorgeous A Million Love Songs, put their own stamp on Bryan Adams’ long-running number one (Everything I Do) I Do It For You, and team up with Merrill Osmond for a new version of Love Me For a Reason. The group soars on a beautiful version of The Jackson 5 classic I’ll Be There and impresses with their take on John Legend’s romantic ballad All Of Me. Love Songs is the perfect accompaniment to Valentine’s Day and it’s simply bursting with warm harmonies, beautiful vocal arrangements and great song choices. G4 keep proving time and time again why they have endured when so many of their X Factor contemporaries have quickly faded away. The chemistry is still evident in the group and their voices are sounding stronger than ever. This record will make you fall in love with them all over again. G4 LOVE SONGS - Out Now!
